Sustainable properties
An ambitious reduction of emissions in the construction and property sector is essential in limiting global warming to 1.5 °C, thus achieving the objective of the Paris Agreement. Together with customers and suppliers, Catena works to accelerate the transition and to deliver properties that are sustainable over time.
Some areas where operations have a significant environmental impact is electricity consumption, heat usage, choice of building materials in new construction and remodelling, waste management and reduced transport through efficient logistics locations. Overriding environmental targets and business goals exist for these aspects that are monitored and evaluated on an annual basis. Properties interacting with the surroundings and society
It has a positive effect on biodiversity to think through the design of the property and take into account the conditions for animals and nature at an early stage of new construction. We want to be net positive in terms of biodiversity in our property portfolio according to our sustainability goals.

By influencing the use of energy in different ways, we also have great effects. In close dialogue with tenants, Catena proposes measures that may have an impact on energy consumption in the property portfolio.
